Duck, North Carolina

Kyle and I traveled to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for the long weekend.  (Thank you Veterans!)  We have been there a couple of times now, since my brother-in-law's family has a house there.  (Thank you Erin and Sean!)  We had a great time and I love the beach, even when it is too chilly to actually go in the water.

Things I was going to get done this weekend:
  • Finish at least one paper
  • Work on a paper I am trying to publish
  • Not one, but two craft projects
  • Finish reading a book about getting the baby to sleep
  • Watch Bad Teacher

Things that I actually did this weekend:
  • Ate
  • Napped
  • Ate
  • Shopped
  • Ate
  • Watched Bad Teacher (horrible!)
  • Ate
  • Played a new board game and watched LSU win, again
  • Ate
  • Laughed, walked on the beach, relaxed, and enjoyed the company of Kyle, Erin, Sean, Basil and Lola.

Each time I visit the Outer Banks I learn there are more and more things to do than I had originally thought.  On this visit we drove past the Wright Brothers National Memorial and the largest dunes on the East Coast.  We stopped in at the outlets and had yummy BBQ.  I guess this explains why I did not get much done on my list.

  1. Beautiful pictures. I don't know about reading a book on how to get a baby to sleep; if there's a trick to it most of us don't know it. So.....I am saying, don't believe everything you read.

  2. I'm with your mom...you'll get to know your daughter and how best to help her ready herself for a good sleep. And, if you have problems, you can always call on either her Nana or her Gram to help out...I'm sure!
