A Quick Trip to Philly.

Ahhhh...  It feels so good to type 'travel' into the Labels box again.  It has been too long.

Kyle had some hotel points saved up, so we decided to take Anna to Philadelphia.  We thought it would be a good way to ease her into travel - well, really, ease us into travelling with a baby. We decided to go to Philly because we had not been there before and it is only a three hour drive from D.C. (if you do not hit traffic and have to stop to change and feed a baby).

We only stayed one night, so we did not see all of the sights, but got an idea of what Philadelphia is all about.  We checked out Reading Terminal (awesome!), the Liberty Bell, and the Art Museum (go Rocky!).  Anna enjoyed it all from her stroller.  It was a nice city to walk around, since everything was so close, and we were warned to stay off public transit.  We did not get to eat dinner out at any of the nicer restaurants (I am still nervous she will scream through a fancy dinner) but we saw a lot of sights and Reading Terminal has all the food (soft pretzels!) and sweets (fudge!) I needed.  I am not sure Philly is the nicest city I have ever visited, but it was worth checking out.

Traveling with Anna went really well.  We ended up in a suite at our hotel and it was nice to have all of that space because, holy cow, Anna requires a lot of stuff.  We brought the pack 'n play for her to sleep in, used a small bench in our room as a changing table, and used the laundry bag to hold all of the dirty diapers.  We brought a couple of her toys to play with and a couple of her blankets to lay on the floor and bed.  Anna slept really well and seemed to be in a good mood both days.  It was really nice to enjoy our little family without having to worry about vacuuming or the laundry piling up.  I cannot wait to do it again!

  1. Anna is so lucky to have parents who aren't afraid to expose her to the world. The more you travel, the better she will adjust. Sounds like a great place to visit!
