Here is why Ithaca is the perfect place for a weekend away:
The trails. We walked a few miles each evening and it was wonderful. I love walking. I love the conversation, the sights, the fresh air, and Anna is really loving her backpack these days.
The farmers market. We went early, so it was not crowded yet. I love that this farmers market seems to have more bakery shops than anything else. We ate our way through each shop.
The brewery. The last time I visited Ithaca Beer Company, it was a small store front with an even smaller bar. Now, it is a full blown brewery, bar, and restaurant. It was super crowded too, but that could be because one of the local colleges was having graduation that weekend.
The celebrities? We ran into David Boreanaz who was in Ithaca to speak at graduation.
And most importantly, family.
(sorry about all the mismatching Instagram filters)
The last photo is kind of funny in that my sister (Anna's Aunt Sue) is the coach in the family and played a lot of softball; Sue is pitching. Me, the "cheerleader" (gasp, not a sport in my sister's opinion) is teaching Anna to hold the bat. Hmmm......should be the other way around.
ReplyDeleteOh, and a PS: David Boreanaz is much better looking in person and taller than I thought. However, my sister thought he was shorter. And, Ithaca being used to celebrities (many famous people have graduated from Ithaca college); made him wait for a booth at the diner just like everyone else.
