Introducing Anna!

She is here!

Here are the details:
  • 7 lbs, 5 oz.
  • 18 inches
  • Brown Hair
  • Blue Eyes
  • Born at 2:46pm, November 30, 2011

Notes from the delivery:
  • She was two weeks early.  I was really expecting her to be on time.  Her 12/12 due date fit perfectly into my school schedule, was far enough away from Christmas, and since my birthday is 4/4 and Kyle's is 2/22 it really worked.  And, everything goes according to plan.
  • Labor and delivery went very fast.  At 10:30am I was at my usual doctor's appointment thinking that maybe something was going on.  I was then sent to the hospital to get checked out and Anna was here at 2:46pm.
  • So, yes it was super short but that does mean it was super easy.  I had no medication and no time to really comprehend what was going on but the end result was worth it.
  • I remember saying "sorry" a lot and swearing once.
  • The delivery nurse commented that she looked Asian.  The doctor than awkwardly told her to be quiet.   The truth is, she did look Asian.
  • I fainted (for the first time ever) and Kyle almost punched a nurse (for the first time ever)!  After everything was over, the nurses really wanted me to use the restroom.  I tried to tell them I have the bladder of a camel and I did not have to go, but they insisted.  So, while sitting there, I actually fainted and woke up to four nurses throwing cold water on me and slapping my face.  I blame it on the pressure.  Kyle was not allowed back in the room until all was well, so he was a bit angry since he had no idea what was going on.

I still cannot believe she is here and at the same time I cannot believe she has not always been here.  Life is good.

    1. Thank you, both, for giving us such a beautiful grandchild...she's absolutely perfect! And, as I said before...Katy, you are my champion! So fast and furious...and you look none the worse for wear...amazing. Bill and I have never been more happy and we are so proud to be Anna's "Gram" and "Gramps".

    5. I am so proud of you both, Anna has wonderful, loving & caring parents. I can't wait to hold her. I can't picture Kyle getting ready to punch anyone, let alone a nurse but we always knew he would protect you and now Anna. Katy, few people would attempt to hold down a full time job, be a full time parent and pursue their Phd. Few people would be able to accomplish that but I know you will. Very proud of you. Lots of love, Anna's Nana and Grampa
