Snow Snow Snow Snow
D.C. doesn't get a lot of snow each winter, at least not while I have lived here.  So, when we got a couple of inches yesterday, I was very excited to take Anna outside.  She was not as excited.  She kept complaining she was cold and wanted to go inside, even though I told her playing in the snow was fun.  And, for the record, it was not even cold outside.  I kept taking pictures, hoping she would have some fun.

Then, she fell and was totally over it.

Later in the afternoon, with much of the snow already melted, she ventured out again.

She crushed that snowball and then wanted to go back inside again.

Anna is so close to rolling over.

Riley was not about to help her.

Now that I think about it, I am not sure Riley can roll over either, at least not on command.

Today is February 1st, it is almost 70 degrees outside, and everyone is enjoying it.

Old Pictures

I am in such a Christmas mood!  I know, I know, it is not even Thanksgiving yet.

No wonder Firpo does not like Aunt Erin.

Firpo Enjoying the Weather

The weather this week has been absolutely perfect:  60s in the morning and low 80s in the afternoon, with very little humidity and plenty of sunshine.  I have had my windows open all week and it does not get much better than that.

Firpo Fell

We had a pet-drama filled weekend.  First, Friday night Riley came down with the whimpers.  I have no idea why, still, but almost every time she moved and was touched, she whimpered like nothing had ever hurt so much in her life.  I still don’t know what happened, but after a night of being able to sleep in the bed with us, she was cured.

Then, this morning, Firpo made the leap off our of second story balcony.  I still don’t know if he fell off or jumped off, but when I couldn’t find him on the balcony, I immediately looked down and found him, a bit stunned, on the cement stoop below.  I screamed (explicative) and ran downstairs and outside, but he was fine!  I think he is officially on his second life.
