Anna: Where is my umbrella?
Me: I didn't bring it. You don't need it since it stopped raining.
Anna: Did Daddy make it stop raining?

As you can see, visiting Santa did not go well this year. In fact, it was even worse than last year! She wouldn't even sit by herself. It all turned out OK though when she got her reindeer hat when she was done.

Anna turned two!! a while ago.
This year we celebrated her birthday with Kyle's parents since we were there for Thanksgiving. I guess our Thanksgivings from now on will include apple pie, pumpkin pie, and birthday cake!

Anna celebrated with a trip to Rockford's Discovery Center Museum, lunch, a visit to the fire station, cake, and presents. I highly recommend the museum. There was a lot for toddlers to do. Here are some pictures:
It is hard to believe that Anna is two already. Sure, I miss my roly-poly baby sometimes, but it is nice to watch her be more independent, have her own opinions, and try to do stuff on her own. I love having a real conversation with my daughter. I also like it when she says stuff like, "I like your sweater Mommy."

D.C. doesn't get a lot of snow each winter, at least not while I have lived here. So, when we got a couple of inches yesterday, I was very excited to take Anna outside. She was not as excited. She kept complaining she was cold and wanted to go inside, even though I told her playing in the snow was fun. And, for the record, it was not even cold outside. I kept taking pictures, hoping she would have some fun.
Then, she fell and was totally over it.
Later in the afternoon, with much of the snow already melted, she ventured out again.
She crushed that snowball and then wanted to go back inside again.
